What does Office Communicator 2007 offer?
- Automatic Presence State Hosted OCS can automatically detect when a user is busy or away based on his/her calendar stored in Exchange.
- Contact Tagging Users can tag contacts with a special indicator to receive notifications whenever a tagged users presence changes.
- Contact Card Users can view detailed information about their contacts from his/her Office Communicator program.
- Contact Search with GAL Integration Users can easily search for any user that is in the Global Address List linked to their Microsoft Outlook contacts.
- Distribution List Integration Users can search and send instant messages, conferences with users that belong to any Outlook distribution list in the organization.
- Web Conferencing Users can instantly change a IM conversation to a group web conference.
- Roaming Contact List A users contact list is stored on the server allowing him/her to avoid having to recreate contacts when using a different PC.
- Conference Scheduling from Outlook Users can setup a web conference through Microsoft Outlook which takes care of sending out the invite with the link to open the IM conference.
- Private and Secure All IM sessions are secured an encrypted from end-to-end.
Note: Microsoft Outlook integration requires each user have a Hosted Exchange mailbox.
