Import or Export email using the Control Panel and FTP

Before proceeding with the following instructions, it is assumed that you have basic knowledge with using an FTP program and importing/exporting email from Microsoft Outlook. If you do not have an FTP program we recommend the free FileZilla client. A link to download is available in the control panel on Step 2 below.

Quick Access: Import Mailbox | Export Mailbox

1. Log on to http://cp.dnamail.com using your admin account.

2. Click on the Operations Icon -> Exchange -> Mailbox Import/Export



3. From this page you can either Import or Export mailboxes to and from the PST format. Use either of the below procedures to perform each function.

Import Mail

NOTE: If you are having trouble accessing the FTP server please contact DNAmail powered by SherWeb support

1. From the Mailbox Import and Export page take note of the FTP Login details and connect to the FTP server using your FTP client.



2. Browse to the FTP MailboxImport folder. Upload the PST file(s) that you wish to import into mailbox(s)



3. Return to the Control Panel and expand the Import Mailboxes link and click Edit for the user you are importing mail. Select the uploaded PST file from the drop down box and click Update.

4. Click Import Mailbox to begin the import. Once the Status indicator turns Green the import process is completed. Note: Uploaded files for PST imports are automatically deleted from our ftp server after 3 weeks.



5. Log on to the mailbox account and verify that the email was imported. This process is now complete.

Export Mail

1. From the Mailbox Import/Export page select Export Mailboxes. Check the box(s) of the mailbox(s) you wish to export and click Export Mailboxes.



2. From the Mailbox Import and Export page take note of the FTP Login details and connect to the FTP server using your FTP client.



3. Launch your FTP client and connect to the FTP server using the FTP Login details from the Import/Export page. Browse to the MailboxExport directory and download the PST created from Step 1. Note: Exported PST files are automatically deleted from our ftp server after 3 weeks.
