Active Directory User Sync Tool
Please follow the instructions below to get started using the AD Sync tool between your domain and the DNAmail Hosted Services Control Panel.
IMPORTANT: DNAmail strongly recommends that you perform a system state backup on your domain controller before installing any
software on the server.
1. Login to your hosted services control panel at: https://cp.dnamail.com using your administrator credentials.
2. Once you have logged in, go to Services menu -> Add Features
3. Check the box labeled Active Directory Sync and click Add Feature. Log out of the Control Panel and wait 1-2 minutes before proceeding
to the Next step.
4. Once you have logged in, go to Services Menu > User Sync Download
5. Read the User Sync Overview and proceed to download and save the correct edition of the setup program for your Windows Domain Controller.
6. Login to your Domain Controller and launch the CortexSyncSetup.msi installer and click Next
7. Enter the account credentials for the Control Panel Administrator
8. Check Watch for changes to users and specify the update interval (Default interval is recommended)
9. Choose the groups which you want synchronized with your Hosted Services Account and click Next. By default the Users group is already selected.*
10. Click Next, choose the location to install the Cortex Sync location, and click Install
11. Once installation has completed, click Finish
*For more granular control over your Hosted Services and AD environments, it is recommended that you create a Global Security group and add the specified users to that group.
In addition, when creating a new user on your domain and adding them to the security group specified in step 7 it is required to perform a password reset on the account after you add to the security group in order to initialize the synchronization for that user to DNAmail.
If you need to change the Group(s) that get synchronized you will need uninstall “Cortex Sync’ on your domain controller and then reinstall using these instructions.
